Jim Bethancourt, President
Jim has 5 years of experience as a software developer, working in the petroleum, communications, pricing optimization, and financial/energy credit risk sectors. He has a B.S. in Computer Science from Texas A&M University. He currently works for ROME Corporation as a Technical Architect, and is also a zone leader on DZone's Java Zone. He is also SCEA 5 Certified and will be speaking at JavaOne 2008.
Clay Smith, Vice President of Free Stuff
Clayton Smith has nearly 5 years of experience in the software industry. He began working as a PHP developer for a small local IT company while concurrently working on a Computer Science degree at University of Houston. His projects led him down the path of learning C# and Visual Basic. He now works as a Java developer for ROME Corporation, a software company specializing in Enterprise Risk Management. He is very passionate about software development, his wife, two kittens, and leopard gecko, music, and beer.
Dan Sline, Houston TechFest Coordinator
Dan has over 13 years in the software industry working with various financial, health care, utilities, energy, and education systems. He currently is a Technical Lead with JPMorganChase in their Investment Bank Technology Group. He has a B.S. in Business Management with Minors in Math and Computing from Ithaca College and a M.S. in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University. He is also a Sun Certified Developer for the Java 2 Platform (SCJD).

My goal for the group is to put together an awesome list of speakers and topics for the Java track at this year’s Houston Techfest. If you would like to present, please feel free to contact me.
